You have made it to senior year. It is really easy to think “no big deal” but it is. This is the end of the journey that began with kindergarten. This is the last mile of a long marathon and as Tech students; you have chosen to run it up hill. You chose to spend the last four years of this journey in one of the toughest high schools in America. It is a big deal. You are representing almost 100 years of Tech students. 100 years of students going through all the same things that you have gone through. No other school demands as much. Every day, a student at Tech will climb more stairs than any other high school student, which is only fitting because Tech students climb to reach a higher standard every day. It is a big deal to graduate from Brooklyn Technical High School. It might be hard to see with so many students in the hallways but you are part of a precious few that could and will accomplish this feat. By this school year’s end, you will join a special group, the alumni of Brooklyn Tech.
Now that we’ve established that being a senior at Brooklyn Tech is a special thing, you should know that a great senior year is planned. This booklet will tell you about all the events that have been planned to make this the greatest senior year ever. Your student government representatives have worked very hard to make all this possible. Try to participate in as many of these events as you can. Do not be the person who regrets all the stuff that they didn’t do. Your senior year in high school is a once in a lifetime thing. You will not get a second chance at your senior year. Participate in your senior events. Go to the Masquerade Dance and the Prom. Dress up on Senior Pride Days. Travel to Upstate New York and Florida on the winter and spring trips. Go see a game and support the student athletes at Tech. Most of all, put on your cap and gown and walk with pride at your Graduation. Enjoy your senior year. Do not have regrets, have memories.
